Matthew 7:1

“Judge not, that you be not judged.”  ESV

The following context clarifies that this is neither a prohibition of all judgment nor immunity from judgment by others. Often, we judge others by a harsher standard than we use for ourselves. We are blind to our own faults but seem to notice the smallest faults in others. Before we can help others with their faults, we must first address our own. Both self-discipline and helping others requires judgment that is honest, unhypocritical, and compassionate.
